On Aug 18 a group of Dutchmen from befriended organization Help De Polen loaded up a truck with gifts – special hospital beds, mattresses for prevention of bedsores, mechanic and electric wheelchairs, walkers, shoes, clothes, furniture, school desks and chairs, and blankets, among others. Hospital beds and mattresses for prevention of bedsores were delivered to the MSWiA Hospital in Poznan.
After unloading the beds in Poznan, the truck drove to Jarocin where it was loaded again with gifts collected by the inhabitants of Jarocin and officially handed by the City Mayor. The Jarocin County Water and Sewage Company transferred 2 pallets loaded with drinking water bottles for the inhabitants of Bogatynia.
On Friday afternoon, on Aug 20, 2010 the truck with the support for the inhabitants of Bogatynia . left Jarocin. On the truck heading towards the flood damaged town there were: clothes, furniture, medical aids, school desks and chairs, hospital beds, blankets, and mineral water. The truck arrived on Sat morning. It was supervised by Czeslaw Przedpelski, a member of Lions Club Poznan Concordia. ‘We can see that the people are in need. Our humanitarian organization is sensitive to all in despair. We are helping the others just like people should help other people. If we can acquire some products for the others, we do’ – stressed Czeslaw Przedpelski.
The activity coordinators in Poland are LC Poznań Concordia and LC Poznań 1990, as well as LEO CLUB POZNAŃ 1996and Jarocin County. The costs of transporting the gifts to Bogatynia were covered by 2 Lions Clubs: LC Poznań Concordia and LC Poznań 1990.
